The proposed takeover of Blue Square North club Stafford Rangers has fallen through, BBC Radio Stoke reports.

Every shareholder in the club received a letter from a mystery consortium earlier this month offering to buy shares for 50 pence each.

However it is now understood that the consortium have ended their interest in buying the club.

In December, the Boro announced they were taking measures designed to stave off administration.
