Brian Statham has resigned as manager of Ryman Premier Division club Heybridge Swifts.
Statham was in charge at Scraley Road for almost four years but felt he had taken them as far as he could.
He told BBC Essex: "I always set myself high standards for myself and my team and I felt we weren't able to get anywhere close to those levels."
Reserve team boss Wayne Bond will take charge of the side, while director of football Steve Pitt has also left.
Right now I'm just going to relax, take my boy to go and watch a few games and just see what comes up

"Maybe it's time now for someone else to come in and take charge and maybe drive the team in a different direction with different ideas," Statham added.
The former Tottenham and Chelmsford City player confirmed he was planning to return to football in the near future.
"If I could write the script, I'd take a month off and be in a job in that time," he said.
"But right now I'm just going to relax, take my boy to go and watch a few games for a change and just see what comes up.
