Midfielder Birley is a former Birmingham City trainee

Blue Square South side Worcester City appear to have missed out on signing Bromsgrove midfielder Matt Birley.

Worcester had offered the 21-year-old a trial at St George's Lane but it is believed he will now stay at Rovers.

Garry Knight also seems set to stay at the Victoria Ground, and manager Duane Darby is hoping to bring in defender Dennis Pearce from Halesowen.

But Rovers have lost goalkeeper Karl Lewis, after he moved to rivals Evesham United to replace Nathan Vaughan.
