Telford put off by Roberts price

Dave Roberts
Telford refuse to meet the fee for Roberts

AFC Telford United have been put off making Dave Roberts's loan deal a permanent one by the fee put on his head by his parent club Burscough.

"They want over 5,000 which is way more than we will offer," boss Rob Smith told BBC Radio Shropshire.

"We want him, and he wants to come but unless there's a change of heart we'll be looking elsewhere."

And Smith has set a deadline of 27 May for striker Lee Moore to decide if he wants a new contract with the club.

Moore initially turned down a new deal, but Smith said: "I've had further discussions with Lee, but I can't be hanging on and I want an answer from him."
