A director of cash-strapped Nuneaton Borough has stepped in to ensure the players continue to get paid.

Director Ian Neale told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire: "I funded the shortfall of the players' wages last week."

Boro's board hope to make an official announcement regarding the club's financial future next week.

"Football debts are a priority in a football club, they're specifically targeted to be paid before anybody else including the crown," Neale added.
