Bodmin Town beat second-placed Saltash United 1-0 at Priory Park on Wednesday night to all but secure the inaugural South West Peninsula league title.
The leaders' only goal came when Cornwall striker Danny O'Hagan turned in county team-mate Steve Ovens' cross after 41 minutes.
The bruising match saw two players go to hospital, including Cornwall player Aaron Cusack, who dislocated his ankle.
Bodmin are now seven points clear of Saltash with three games to go.
All that stands between them and the title is Buckland Athletic, who visit Priory Park on Saturday.
Elsewhere third-placed Plymouth Parkway moved level with Saltash on 67 points after winning 1-0 at Torpoint Athletic.
Falmouth stay fourth after a 2-2 draw at fourth-from-bottom Holsworthy, St Blazey consolidated ninth place after winning 3-2 at third-from-bottom Elburton Villa and Ivybridge Town leapfrogged Liskeard Athletic into 11th place after beating them 1-0.
