Dave Roberts scores Telford's winner (Allan Phillips)
AFC Telford United boss Rob Smith believes his side are on the brink of securing a play-off place after Saturday's 3-1 win over Harrogate Town.
On the back of four straight defeats, Telford found themselves behind after just 13 seconds through Chris Bettney.
But Matty Lewis levelled from the spot on 27 minutes and goals either side of half time from Lee Moore and defender Dave Roberts secured the points.
Smith said: "We deserve to be in the play-offs. We're another step nearer."
Over 3,000 watched the Bucks' last home league game of the campaign as they beat their closest rivals Harrogate, who had started the day on the same 71-point mark.
With two games left, Telford still need four points to be sure of sealing a play-off place. But, by the time Smith's men head for second-placed Stalybridge next Saturday, things should be a lot clearer as seventh-placed Southport, who have two games in hand, will have played twice by then.
"To show character and come back from that was a credit to them," said Smith. "I've said all season I've got a strong bunch in there."
'Man of the match' Moore said he was looking forward to the last two games, admitting: "We want to get promoted. We'll go all out to win the next two games as well."
