Michael Husbands was on the books at Aston Villa as a youngster |
AFC Telford United hope to extend Michael Husbands' loan deal as the striker looks to prove his fitness. The Macclesfield forward has suffered a knee ligament injury which has kept him out of action since New Year's Day when Telford beat Tamworth 4-1.
Husbands has scored three goals since he started his loan spell at the club.
And Telford manager Rob Smith confirmed: "He is looking sharp, we hope to extend his loan. We want to make sure he's 100% fit."
Husbands will miss Saturday's match against Leigh RMI in the Blue Square North. He joins Indy Khela and Richard Teesdale on the sidelines.
Meanwhile, Smith said it is still his priority to look for another defender to cover for injuries.
