Alfreton Town have signed experienced Cape Verde defender Georges Santos, after the much-travelled player found himself out of contract. The 37-year-old signed for Chesterfield in August but his short-term contract was not renewed in November.
Since leaving the Spireites, Santos has had unsuccessful trials at Lincoln City and Rotherham United.
Born in Marseille, Santos has also played for Tranmere, West Brom, Grimsby, Ipswich, and Sheffield United.
Alfreton have also extended the loan of Josh Law from Chesterfield until the end of the season.
