York won at Altrincham and Exeter beat Salisbury in the only ties pitting Blue Square Premier clubs with each other.

Top-flight Oxford were sent out after losing 1-0 in a replay with Ryman Premier Division side Tonbridge Angels.

Blue Square Premier side Farsley were held to a 1-1 draw by Unibond Premier Division side Gateshead away from home, but won the replay 4-1.

Halifax earned the final place in round two after winning their twice-postponed first-round tie against Leamington.
