Scarborough have parted company with manager Neil Redfearn. Redfearn and assistant Eric Winstanley opted not to stay on following the appointment of Mark Patterson to the club's coaching staff.
Patterson will now hold talks with the Seasiders with a view to taking charge of the Conference North side.
"I had a meeting with Neil and Eric about a number of issues I had about the way things were progressing," chairman Ian Scobbie told BBC Sport.
"I told them I was proposing to bring in Mark Patterson to work alongside Neil.
"That would have meant no place on the coaching staff for Eric, who would have been given notice under the terms of his contract.
"However, Neil indicated he was not prepared to countenance any changes to the coaching staff and both indicated they would leave the club with immediate effect."
Redfearn, 41, joined Scarborough in June 2004 and took over as player-manager at the end of last October, but they finished bottom of the Conference.
Despite earning an apparent reprieve from relegation by Altrincham's 18-point deduction, Scarborough were sent down for a breach of Conference rules.
