Celtic aim to return to Champions League action
FC Basel of Switzerland put themselves in the driving seat in the battle to face Celtic in the Champions League third qualifying round with a 1-1 draw away to MSK Zilina of Slovakia.

The Slovakian champions took the lead in the first leg of the second qualifying round tie in 30 minutes.

Miroslav Barcik put the home side ahead, but nine minutes later the Swiss drew level thanks to an own goal by Marian Klago.

The sides meet again in Switzerland in a week's time for the right to play the Scottish champions.

Celtic manager Martin O'Neill plans to travel to Basel to take in the second leg ahead of his side's opening European game in two weeks' time.
