Four years after failing in his bid to become head of Nigeria football, former captain Segun Odegbami is having yet another crack at the top job.
Odegbami is gunning for the NFF presidency when elections take place on 21 August in Abuja.
This time around he is banking on the publicly declared support of fellow retired Nigerian internationals.
"Everything is pointing positively in the direction of me being the next NFF president," Odegbami told BBC Sport.
The 57-year-old said unlike his futile attempt last time out, he is now more prepared to be the next president of the NFF.
He is educated, smart, intelligent, honest and full of ideas.

"I've never been this prepared for an election. In the past eight months I have done an examination on what needs to be done to win an election.
"If we plan to move the game forward, we must look at the most important human resource in football development that we have neglected all through these periods, which are the footballers.
"We have to look at that very important resource and incorporate them into our administration; once we do that we will get it right."
Although he faces stiff competition from a plethora of candidates that include current acting NFF president Aminu Maigari, Odegbami remains optimistic about his chances.
Odegbami has received strong support in his bid to land the hottest seat in Nigerian sport from former stars like Christian Chukwu, Jay-Jay Okocha and Victor Ikpeba.
"I grew up watching him on the football pitch and he remains an iconic reference in the history of our football. He is educated, smart, intelligent, honest and full of ideas." said Ikpeba, the 1997 African footballer of the Year.
Nicknamed 'Mathematical' for his exquisite skills, pace and accuracy in front of goal during his playing days, Odegbami is regarded as one of Africa's all-time greats.
After calling time on his career, he became an author, journalist, club owner and respected football commentator.
"I'm looking beyond this NFF post because I want to see change in the direction of Nigeria football, especially at youth level.
"I have extensive business contacts which make it possible for me to explore the dynamics of making our football the biggest market after oil in the land."
