The NFF's Bolaji Ojo-Oba says the theft will not affect the Super Eagles
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) says that the theft of US$200,000 will not impact on the Super Eagles' preparations to play Mozambique.
It is believed the money, which was stolen from the NFF offices in Abuja on Wednesday, was meant for Nigeria's preparations for the 2010 World Cup qualifier in Maputo on 29 March.
But the NFF secretary-general Bolaji Ojo-Oba is confident the burglary will not disrupt the Super Eagles build-up for the Mozambique tie, which includes a training session in South Africa ahead of the match.
"I can assure Nigerians, the players and officials that this theft will not in any way affect allowances and bonuses for the Mozambique game," Ojo-Oba told BBC Sport.
"They will all get any refunds they are owed as well as bonuses and allowances due."
Local media and fans in the country have urged the football authorities to ensure that the incident does not derail the country's quest for a victory in Mozambique.
Meanwhile, Nigeria's Golden Eaglets are to take part in a four-nation under-17 invitational tournament in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
As well as the hosts and Nigeria the other teams at the event will be Egypt and Asian qualifiers for the Fifa Under-17 World Cup South Korea.
The tournament is scheduled for 9-13 April.
Nigeria host the Under-17 World Cup in October and will use the tournament to prepare for it after they failed to reach the on-going African Under-17 Championship in Algeria.
