Injuries and club commitments has forced Nigeria to settle for only 10-foreign based stars for their friendly in South Korea on August 11.

Ikechukwu Uche, John Mikel Obi, Haruna Lukman, and Obinna Nsofor have been replaced by the likes of Obafemi Martins, Kalu Uche and Dickson Etuhu.

But caretaker coach, Austin Eguavoen, is happy with the players he does have.

"I'm happy we have other players here who can use this platform to prove themselves," Eguavoen told BBC Sport.

"We have to make do with what we have; we will be parading a mix of experience and youth in Korea.

"It is a big chance for the local stars to shine and the foreign ones to atone for the World Cup disappointments."

Eguavoen will also have the likes of Joseph Akpala, Solomon Okoronkwo, Danny Shittu, Sam Sodje, Dele Ayenugba, Brown Ideye and Osaze Odemwingie for the match.

Ten local based players are expected to leave for Seoul on August 7, where they will be joined by the Europe-based group.

Meanwhile it is still unclear who will lead the Super Eagles on a more permanent basis with Swedish coach Lars Lagerback waiting for the outcome of Nigeria Football Federation elections before deciding on his future.

But there is still some confusion on when those elections will be held; they are due for 21 August but some candidates want them postponed.
