The DR Congo are looking for a new coach to replace Patrice Neveu
The DR Congo Football Federation (Fecofa) has set out ten criteria for any potential new national team coach to fulfil.
The Leopards are looking for a new coach after Frenchman Patrice Neveu's contract was not renewed last week.
Among the criteria are that the coach must have at least 10 years experience with club or national teams.
The candidates must have also led a national team to the semi-finals of a continental competition.
Fecofa will also insist that the new man in charge settles down and lives in the DR Congo for the duration of his contract.
"We want to make sure we get a coach who will lead us to the 2012 Nations Cup and who has sufficient skill and experience," Fecofa secretary general Ediba Elonga told BBC Sport.
DR Congo are in a qualifying group alongside Cameroon, Senegal and Mauritius.
He added that Fecofa has already received dozens of applications from well-known coaches, but refused to reveal any names.
The country's Sports Minister, Jean-Claude Nyamugabo, explained that Neveu's contract was not renewed because he had failed to produce satisfactory results during his two years in charge of the national team.
Under Neveu the DR Congo failed to even reach the final round of qualifying for the 2010 Nations Cup and 2010 World Cup.
