DR Congo's football federation is on the lookout for a new coach after the departure of Frenchman Patrice Neveu.

Neveu has been in charge of the Leopards for the last two years but has not had his contract renewed.

DR Congo failed to make the final round of qualifying for both the 2010 World Cup or the Nations Cup in Angola.

"We didn't qualify for the Cup of Nations or World Cup, so his record can only be negative," Gregoire Babi of the DR Congo Football Federation said.

Neveu said he had done everything he could to try to help the team and said the infrastructure of the game in DR Congo was to blame for the failure of the team to make progress.

"It's obvious [there's] a lack of resources to coach the players, to travel, to stage training camps [and] people can interpret the results as they wish," he said.

DR Congo face Cameroon, Senegal and Mauritius in qualifying for the Nations Cup in 2012.

The first matches in that campaign take place in September 2010.
