Algeria and Malawi both lost at the Under-17 World Cup in Nigeria on Thursday leaving the two sides without a win or a goal at the tournament so far.

In Group F Uruguay scored two goals in the second-half to beat Algeria 2-0.

Adrian Luna scored the opening goal of the game two minutes after half-time and then with 20 minutes left on the clock Sebastian Gallegos grabbed Uruguay's second.

In the other Group F match Italy came from behind to beat South Korea 2-1.

The Asian side took the lead through a penalty from Kim Jin Su in the 30th minute.

Michele Camporese and Pietro Iemmello scored the goals in the second-half that gave Italy the victory.

Italy top the group with six points, both South Korea and Uruguay have three points while Algeria are yet to get off the mark.

Sunday's final group games see Italy face Uruguay and South Korea against Algeria, who must win to have a chance of advancing.

Malawi's chances of reaching the last 16 are hanging by a thread after they lost 1-0 to the USA in Kano on Thursday.

The USA's goal was scored by Alex Shinsky nine minutes after half time.

The other game in the group on Thursday Spain beat the United Arab Emirates (UAE) 3-1.

Isco was on target for the Spanish after just 12 minutes, seven minutes later Borja doubled that lead.

Mohammad Sebil pulled a goal back for the UAE in the 68th minute but with two minutes left on the clock Adria Carmona sealed the win for Spain.

Malawi will have to win their final Group E match on Sunday against Spain to have any chance of grabbing one of the best four third-placed spots in order to advance to the next round.

Sunday's other game in this group will be the UAE against the USA.

In Group D Turkey easily beat Costa Rica 4-1 on Thursday after the match was abandoned due to rain on Wednesday evening.

That result means Turkey go through to the next round as group winners.

Burkina Faso are third in the table and play bottom side Costa Rica in their final game on Saturday, both sides have one point so far.

New Zealand are just ahead of them with two points from their two draws so far and they play Turkey in their last group match on Saturday.
