Malawi and Algeria suffered defeats in their group matches
Algeria were beaten 1-0 by Italy in their opening Group F match at the Under-17 World Cup in Nigeria.
The Europeans won the game thanks to an amazing late winner from substitute Federico Carraro in Kaduna on Monday.
The north Africans had decent scoring chances but Youcef Khelifi and Abdelhakim Bezzaz fluffed the opportunities.
Algeria were made to pay for their profligacy in the 78th minute when Carraro volleyed in the winner.
South Korea beat Uruguay 3-1 in the other Group F match on Monday.
Nam Seung Woo gave South Korea the lead after 13 minutes before Sebastian Gallegos equalised from the penalty spot on the hour mark.
Just two minutes later Son Heung Min put South Korea in front again and then Lee Jong Ho completed the victory in the final minute of the game.
Meanwhile, nine-man Malawi put up a spirited performance against UAE but lost 2-0 to the Asians in the Group E game in Kano.
The Young Flames were twice denied by the woodwork when Bruno Milanzi in and Tonhy Chitsulo struck the post in the first half.
But the UAE side fought back after the break and captain Marwan Al Saffar curled in a free-kick on 63 minutes.
The Asians took advantage of their numerical strength after Kodwani Lefeyo was sent off for a second bookable offence in the 80th minute.
UAE extended their lead few moments later when Malawi's outstanding goalkeeper Cuthbert Seengwa failed to stop a ferocious drive from Mohammad Sebil.
The Young Flames suffered a blow late on when Gastin Simkonda was sent off.
The two players will not be available when Malawi take on the United States on Thursday.0
In the other Group E game Spain came from behind to the USA 2-1.
Jack McInerney scored for the USA after just four minutes but then midway through the first half Borja equalised and then Pablo Sarabia grabbed the winner eight minutes later.
