Hosts Nigeria edged closer to a place in the knock-out phase of the Under-17 World Cup after defeating Honduras 1-0 in Abuja on Tuesday.
The Golden Eaglets won the Group A match thanks to a second-half strike by Abdul Ajagun.
Nigeria should have won the game by a wider margin but Edafe Egbedi and Stanley Okoro failed to convert their first half chances.
The home side's profligacy continued just after the interval when Kenneth Omeruo and Okoro missed sitters.
But Ajagun was not to be denied in the 56th minute when he curled in from the edge of the box to seal the win for the Golden Eaglets.
In the other game in Group A on Tuesday Argentina came from behind to beat Germany 2-1.
Mario Goetze gave Germany the lead after just eight minutes.
Esteban Espindola scored from the penalty spot in the 57th minute then just a minute later Sergio Araujo scored the winner for Argentina.
Nigeria next face already qualified Argentina on Friday in Bauchi while Honduras, with no points from their two consecutive 1-0 losses, meet Germany in Abuja that same day.
In Tuesday's Group B matches Switzerland beat Japan 4-3, while Mexico defeated Brazil 1-0.
