Sudan's El Merreikh beat Mathare United of Kenya 1-0 to take top spot in Group A at the Cecafa Club Championships on Saturday.
El Merreikh's veteran captain Faisal Ajab scored the only goal of the match just before half time.
The Sudanese champions are unbeaten in Group A and go into the quarter-finals with the maximum nine points.
Mathare United finished in second place in Group A with six points and also make it into the quarter-finals.
Also in Group A, Atraco of Rwanda were 5-0 victors over Djibouti's Kartileh.
That win leaves Atraco in third place in Group A with three points.
They could progress to the quarters as one of the two best third-placed teams, but that is dependent on the results from Group B and C on Sunday.
