The top competition for clubs in East and Central Africa gets going this week.
The Cecafa Cup is being sponsored this year by one of the participants - Sudanese club El Merreikh.
Merreikh's backers, an investment company, have put up to US$1m into the tournament, which is taking place in Sudan.
They are using it as preparation for the group stages of the Champions League, which kick off in July.
Merreikh have the former Enyimba star Stephen Worgu on their books but he still needs to prove himself in Sudan.
Tuesday's opening game against Atraco of Rwanda would be the perfect place to start.
Atraco have been out of action for the last month after the end of the Rwandan league season.
The day's other game see's Kenyan champions Mathare United take on a team from Djibouti.
Other teams to feature include KCC of Uganda, Prisons of Tanzania and Benadir Telecom of Somalia.
The guest entrants and former African champions TP Mazembe of DR Congo.
Tusker of Kenya, who are the defending champions, kick-off their campaign on Wednesday with a game against Hay-al-Arab of Sudan.
They will parade their star striker Mputu Mabi, who was the player of the tournament when DR Congo won the African Nations Championship (CHAN) earlier this year.
