Kenyan side Tusker came from behind to beat URA of Uganda 2-1 to win the East and Central Africa (Cecafa) Club Championship in Dar es Salaam on Sunday.
Ismail Kigozi put URA in the lead after 25 minutes and they managed to protect their advantage up to halftime.
Tusker, who are coached by former Kenya national team coach Jacob "Ghost" Mulee, rallied and drew level midway through the second half through towering defender Joseph Shikokoti.
With two minutes left before the final whistle, Oscar Kadenge secured the win Tusker with a stunning strike.
Tusker officials said that President Mwai Kibaki had sent a congratulatory message and a aeroplane to pick up the team.
They were awarded US$30,000 donated by President Paul Kagame of Rwanda, while the URA took home $20,000 and Simba, who won the third place without kicking the ball, were given $10,000.
Young Africans refused to face their Tanzanian archrivals Simba the third-place play-off, after demanding to be paid about $50,000 before the match.
Cecafa Secretary General Nicolas Musonye said Young Africans would be punished for their "unsporting behaviour".
