Angola to look for new coach

The Angola national team
Angola have lost three friendly international games this year

The Angola Football Federation (FAF) say they are looking for a new national team coach despite backing Mabi de Almeida recently.

Just 11 days ago FAF said that Mabi de Almeida would not be sacked despite a string of poor results.

However the FAF secretary general Augusto Silva is now quoted as saying they are hoping to find a new coach for the Palancas Negras.

Angola have not won a game since Almeida took over as coach at the end of last year, drawing with Venezuela before losses to Mali, Cape Verde and Morocco.

The country are desperate to improve ahead of next year's African Cup of Nations that Angola is hosting.

Silva however denied local media reports that it was in talks with former Brazil and Chelsea coach Luiz Felipe Scolari or the boss of Egyptian club Al Ahly, Manuel Jose.
