DR Congo and Zimbabwe drew 1-1 and it was the same score between Libya and Ghana in Group B of the African Nations Championship in Bouake on Thursday.
Zimbabwe had early opportunities but star striker Mputu Mabi put DR Congo ahead with a header from close range in the 19th minute.
Phillip Marufu found the equaliser for the Warriors on 28 minutes, also with a header.
DR Congo had chances in the second half of a hard-fought contest, among them a long-shot from Mabi that went just wide.
In the day's other match Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac was sent off late in the 1-1 draw against Libya.
Ghana once again had to come from behind to secure a point.
Libya took the lead on 26 minutes when an intricate, three-man free kick manoeuvre ended with striker Ahmed Osman firing past goalkeeper Philemon MacCarthy.
Substitute Edmund Owusu Ansah levelled soon after coming on 18 minutes from full-time, connecting with a headed pass from Yaw Antwi to beat Libya's goalkeeper Samir Aboud.
The results mean that DR Congo top the group with four points with Zimbabwe and Ghana both two points back and Libya bottom of the group.
All four teams still have a chance of reaching the semi-finals ahead of Sunday's last group games that see DR Congo play Ghana and Zimbabwe taking on Libya.
