Al Ahly coach Manuel Jose lauded his players after the Red Devils won the African Super Cup for a record fourth time.
Two goals by Angolan striker Flavio helped the Egyptian giants to defeat Tunisia's Sfaxien 2-1 to clinch the trophy on Friday.
Ahly's tally of Super Cup triumphs now surpasses their great local rivals Zamalek, who have won it three times.
"We were the better team throughout the game and the better side always win," Jose said.
"Flavio is an excellent striker but we don't rely on individuals, we have a team that boast many good players."
Sfaxien have now lost the last two Super Cups, having been defeated by compatriots Etoile du Sahel in last year's match.
The annual one-off game pits the Champions League winners against the Confederation Cup holders.
