CAF acted after Chad failed to travel for a Nations Cup qualifier
Chad have been thrown out of qualifying for the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations.
The move by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) follows Chad's failure to arrive in Sudan for a scheduled match last weekend.
Fifa suspended the game because of political tensions between the two countries.
But CAF says Chad were assured of their safety and security in Sudan, and Fifa only acted after the Chadian authorities refused to send the team.
As a result Chad have been told they have been disqualified from Angola 2010 qualifying.
But Fifa says Chad will continue to take part in World Cup preliminary matches.
With the qualifying campaigns for the World and Nations Cups being combined, Chad are being asked to fulfill their forthcoming fixtures.
There is confusion about what that would mean for the second round of qualifying, if Chad were to secure enough points to go through.
Fifa at the moment is saying they can still continue to try and win a place at South Africa 2010, but CAF says they have definitely been thrown out of the Nations Cup.
CAF says that only the matches played between the other three teams in Group 10 will be counted towards the Nations Cup.
