Dixon and Johnson are keen to play for the Lone Star
Liberia players Jimmy Dixon and Dulee Johnson are to keen serve their country even though they have not signed a document committing them to the Lone Star.
Coach Antoine Hey has warned his foreign-based who fail to sign the letter of commitment by 30 April that they will be left out of his squad.
But the Sweden-based duo, who are key Lone Star players, say they are yet to receive the letter from the Liberia Football Association.
"I am prepared to sign the document because I want to play for Liberia but I think the coach should open a proper channel of communication with me," Dixon said.
The German coach issued the ultimatum after foreign-based players failed to turn up for a friendly against Sudan last month.
But Johnson thinks the idea of signing a letter of commitment before playing for Liberia is not right.
"I am willing to play for my country any day so I don't need to sign a contract," John said.
"If the invitation for the next game is sent in time I will show up."
The two players brushed aside Hey's criticism that their absence from the Sudan game was a deliberate refusal to play for the Lone Star.
"The fax inviting me for the Sudan game was sent to the Swedish Football Association which forwarded it to me a day before the match. It should have been sent it directly to my club," Dixon said.
"I have a job here. I cannot just wake up and tell my club that I am going to Liberia to play. There must be an invitation."
Hey's first competitive game in charge of the squad will be a 2010 World Cup qualifier against Gambia at the end of May.
They will also face Senegal and Algeria in Group Six of the games which also serve as the qualifiers for the 2010 African Cup of Nations.
