Nigeria secured their ticket to the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing after beating Ghana 2-0 in Abuja on Saturday.
The Super Falcons finished top of the qualifying group, thanks to a brace from Cynthia Uwak, to take Africa's sole automatic place at the tournament.
The victory took Nigeria level on nine points with Ghana but they qualified because of their superior goal advantage.
The Black Queens will now take on Brazil in a play-off to try to book their place at the competition in Beijing.
Ghana, who won the first leg encounter 1-0, needed only a draw to win Africa's final qualifying group.
But it was not to be as the home side dominated the early exchanges and opened the scoring on 38 minutes.
Uwak pounced to give the Super Falcons the lead after Ghana goalkeeper Memunatu Suleimana failed to hold firmly from a corner kick.
The African Footballer of Year doubled the home side's lead in 88th minute after tearing into the Ghanaian defence ferociously.
The three-team African group also includes South Africa but Banyana Banyana had absolutely no chance of making it to Beijing.
