Berti Vogts is unhappy with the Nigeria Football Association again |
The friction between the Nigeria Football Association (NFA) and coach Berti Vogts seems to be continuing.
This time over the publication of the Super Eagles' bonus scheme for the African Cup of Nations.
Earlier this month the NFA revealed that each player will receive US$49,000 if the team wins the Nations Cup in Ghana on 10 February.
Vogts was unhappy that the NFA publicly announced details of the the team's bonus, describing it as an 'unnecessary distraction' at a very crucial time.
The German coach and the NFA have clashed in the past over organisational problems.
The association's secretary-general Bolaji Ojo-Oba told BBC Sport that they made the announcement to avert the bonus crisis that has plagued the country at previous major championships.
"The players knew what they were entitled to, so it was not done behind their backs," Ojo-Oba said.
"The coach was there when we were discussing it and he was part of everything, so he cannot claim not to be aware.
"It was better to make it clear, so there won't be any disagreements in Ghana."
Despite the disagreement, Vogts is trying to keep the players focused on the crucial tournament in Ghana.
"We have very good players and the preparation is good. My target is very clear and that is to win the cup," Vogts said.
"To win the Cup, you need a little bit of luck and you have to fight for luck."
