Forty-two teams will take part in the 2008 Confederation Cup. Holders CS Sfaxien of Tunisia have a bye to the second round where they will play Algeria's JSM Bejaia.
Two-time African club champions Asante Kotoko of Ghana face Nigerians Wikki Tourist in the second round.
The eight third round winners will progress to the group stage of Africa's second-tier club competition.
Tourbillon of Chad were banned from the competition.
The Confederation of African Football disqualified the team because their national federation "failed to fulfil financial obligations to the Confederation".
