Togo held in under-17 opener
Togo's under 17 coach Samer Abraw
Togo coach Samer Abraw saw his side pegged back
Togo have opened their campaign at the under-17 World Cup in South Korea with a point, after being held to a 1-all draw by Costa Rica.

Togo are in Group A, which also features the hosts and Peru.

Samer Abraw's side opened the scoring in Suwon with 6 minutes to go to half time, when Sapol Mani pounced to put the Young Hawks in front.

And they had plenty of chances to extend their lead as the game continued in to the second half.

But then, with 10 minutes to go, Costa Rica's Josue Martinez came off the bench - and a minute later he was on the score sheet to equalise.

Both sides squandered opportunities to win the game late on.

Togo's next outing is on Tuesday, when they play Peru - also in Suwon.

The other African sides taking part in the under 17 World Cup are Nigeria, Ghana and Tunisia.
