Egyptian club Ismaili have sacked their French manager Patrice Neveu after his reported three week absence from the club. Neveu went on vacation to his homeland last month but did not return to prepare his team for the new season or in lead them in the Confederation Cup.
The Egyptians drew with Kwara United of Nigeria 1-1 on 4 August and were led by caretaker Fawzi Gamal instead.
The former manager of Guinea was appointed in February but failed to win any silverware during his term in charge.
Egyptian manager Taha Basry will now succeed Neveu.
Basry, a former Zamalek player, guided ENPPI club to the first division and top victory in the Egyptian Cup in 2005.
