Neveu took Guinea to the quarter-finals of the Nations Cup in January |
Frenchman Patrice Neveu has confirmed that he has resigned as the coach of Guinea after poor results in qualifiers for the 2008 African Nations Cup.
Neveu said that he had met with Guinean sports officials in Conakry on Saturday and they had agreed on the terms of his departure.
Guinea lost 0-1 to Cape Verde and drew 0-0 with Algeria and are currently bottom of Group Eight of the African Nations qualifiers.
The 52-year-old has been in charge of the West African side since early 2004.
Neveu qualified Guinea to the last Nations Cup finals in Egypt and took the team on the quarter-final stage.
