Etoile du Sahel have five of their eight titles under Fawzi Benzarti

Just six days after leading Etoile du Sahel to their eighth Tunisian league title, coach Fawzi Benzarti has announced that he will be leaving the Sousse club.

Talking on a local radio station Benzarti said that several times during the season Etoile officials had shown him that "they did not really like" him.

"They have always tried to get rid of me although none of them was able to say it publicly," he explained

"All the officials envied me because they know I am stronger and have more influence with the players and on games than any other one here.

"They also know that the players are on my side, something they never appreciated."

This year's title was Benzarti's fifth with Etoile and makes him the most successful Tunisian coach ever.
