Etoile du Sahel clinched the Tunisian league championship after beating CS Sfaxien 2-1 on Sunday.
The title win ended a streak of seven successive seasons of finishing runners-up.
Etoile, also runners-up in the two of the last three Champions League finals, remained five points clear of nearest rivals Club Africain for their first league title since 1997 and their eighth overall.
The win ensured an unassailable lead with one round of the Tunisian league season remaining on 27 May.
Amine Chermiti scored first for Etoile in the 52nd minute and the title was secured with a penalty from Sabeur Ben Frej 10 minutes later.
Club Africain were 2-0 home winners over EGS Gafsa to stay second and in pole position for a berth in the Champions League.
