Sudan keep the pace in Group 4
Tunisia

Sudan kept up the pressure on Group Four leaders Tunisia when winning their Nations Cup qualifier 2-1 in Mauritius on Sunday.

A brace from Faisal Agab lifted the Sudanese to six points - one behind the Tunisians, who beat the Seychelles 3-0 on Saturday.

Agab opened the scoring three minutes before the break in Curepipe as he converted from close range.

The home side hit back through substitute Ricardo Naboth as he levelled the scores with a strike from the edge of the box after 68 minutes.

Yet Agab was not to be denied and he secured Sudan's first away win in the group when grabbing the winner just four minutes from time.

My players were more experienced than the Mauritians and that was what made the difference. Several years of war has affected football in our country but after 30 years of absence from the Nations Cup, we will qualify this year.

Sudan coach Mohammed Abdallah

Winless Mauritius lie bottom of Group Four, with only one point from their three games.

In Victoria, striker Issam Jomaa scored all the goals as Tunisia beat the Seychelles 3-0 on Saturday.

The Carthage Eagles, who had been uninspiring in their two previous qualifiers, finally came alive on the island nation.

Jomaa opened the scoring in the 17th minute when he fired home from the edge of the box to silence the 8,000 local fans.

The 2004 African champions could have increased their tally had striker Haykel Guemamdia made better use of his chance just before the half hour.

Tunisia had to wait until the 76th minutes for their second goal as Jomaa took advantage of a defensive mix-up.

The forward, who plays for French side Lens, completed his hat-trick four minutes later following a counter-attack.

Saturday's game marked the return of Tunisian midfielder Slim Benachour, who has not been called up since being left out of the squad for last year's World Cup finals.

Defender Radhi Jaidi also returned to the national team despite retiring from international football in September.

The 31-year-old rescinded his decision after meeting Tunisian FA officials last month.
