Vogts needs to prepare for the Nations Cup tie against Uganda on 24 March |
National coach Berti Vogts will arrive in Nigeria in two weeks' time to take charge of the Super Eagles.
"I will fly to Nigeria on 13 March because it wouldn't make any sense to be there before that and just lie around on the beach," he said on Wednesday.
The German was scheduled to reach Lagos on Tuesday night but failed to take his flight.
The 60-year-old refused to travel to the West African nation until three months' salary had been paid up front as stipulated by his contract.
Emeka Ezeala, a representative of Vogts, said the coach has planned a new arrival date after the matter's finalisation.
"Late in the day on Tuesday, we found out that everything had been settled," Ezeala told BBC Sport.
"But that came after he had missed the flight."
"We then decided to arrive on (Thursday) 1 March but the NFA told us that most of its officials are in Ghana for the Caf awards.
"So the new date to arrive in Nigeria is 13 March."
The NFA had issued a press statement on Wednesday stating that Vogts, whose salary is paid by a local telecoms firm, had requested the trip be postponed, but gave no reason for this.
Vogts' first game in charge is a Nations Cup tie Uganda on 24 March and Ezeala says that the German has been preparing for some time.
"He started his job two weeks ago," he added.
"He's met some of the big players in Britain and discussed with them his plans and how to move Nigerian football forward."
