Nigeria's German coach Berti Vogts has added former Germany goalkeeper Uli Stein to the Nigerian coaching staff.
Stein is coming in as the goalkeeper's trainer and will be the second German after Thomas Haessler to be appointed by Vogts.
The 52-year-old says he is relishing the opportunity of working in Nigeria for the first time: "Berti Vogts asked me if I wanted to come along and I agreed spontaneously."
"Nigeria is an absolute top team, and I look forward to this fascinating task and co-operating with Vogts and Haessler."
Stein was part of the West Germany squad that took part in the 1986 Fifa World Cup in Mexico.
His arrival now means the Super Eagles have six coaches: Vogts is already assisted by Austin Eguavoen, Daniel Amokachi and Ike Shorunmu, the latter being the present goalkeeper's trainer.
However, contrary to recent reports, the Nigeria FA appears to have approved of Vogt's recent appointments.
"It doesn't come as a surprise to us, we were well aware that Berti Vogts would be coming with two assistants," NFA vice-chairman Amanze Uchegbulam told BBC Sport on Wednesday.
"His assistants will be travelling with him whenever we have games and that is part of the agreement in his contract.
"With Haessler and the goalkeeper trainer coming in, we know together with our local coaches they will impact positively on our football."
Vogts is due to fly to Nigeria to start his job at the beginning of March after he signed a four-year deal in February.
His main target when he starts his will be to ensure Nigeria qualify for the for the 2010 World Cup finals to be staged in South Africa.
