Togo striker Emmanuel Adebayor has been excluded from the Monaco team for repeatedly missing training, according to club president Michel Pastor.
"He will no longer train with the professional team until further notice and there will also be financial sanctions", Pastor told reporters.
Pastor said the measures would take effect once the player returns from the African Nations Cup finals which start on 20 January.
Adebayor was already facing the prospect of struggling to win back his place in the Monaco starting line-up even without the sanctions now that Italian strikers Marco Di Vaio and Christian Vieri have joined the club.
