Adebayor keen on England move

Adebayor says he is now ready to move to England

Togo striker Emmanuel Sheyi Adebayor has revealed he is now ready to leave French club Monaco to join an English Premiership side.

The 21-year-old turned down offers from English clubs Arsenal, Southampton and West Ham United to extend his stay with Monaco in August.

But Adebayor said he is now ready to make the transition.

"It was difficult for me to make the decision to leave Monaco before now, because I was young.

"But I feel like a big boy now and am prepared to leave Monaco.

"Arsenal, Tottenham and West Ham United are always calling me to join them."

The 2005 African Footballer of the Year Award nominee said his move to England could come as soon as January, when the mid-season transfer window opens.

"But I will open my eyes to make a good move so that I don't regret it two months down the line," Adebayor said.

Adebayor plans to consult experienced African players in England before deciding on which team to join.

"I want to call on players like Kanu Nwankwo, who played for Arsenal, to advice me on which team to join.

"I want to go where people will love me. This is very important."
