Nigeria's Samson Siasia is unhappy with his side's preparations

Samson Siasia, Nigeria's under-20 coach, has declared that his side's preparations for the World Youth Championship (WYC) are being hampered.

Two months ago, Siasia led the Flying Eagles to their fifth African title title in Benin.

But with just two months to the start of the WYC in the Netherlands, a furious Siasia told BBC Sport his plans for that tournament are being derailed by inaction on the part of Nigeria's sports officials.

"No one should expect a miracle in Holland because we have not done anything positive since we won the African Youth Championship in Benin," Siasia warned.

"I proposed three months of intensive training but with two months left to the World Cup we are still at a crossroad.

"I'm having problems getting the players into camp as the ministry [of sports] insists there are no funds," he said.

The Flying Eagles coach admitted that he is very unhappy about the situation.

"I'm very frustrated and very worried because I worked very hard to get this team qualified [for the WYC] and I want to go out there and do a very good job," Siasia said.

"If the support is not there, there is no way we can do well.

"It's really sad that people know how to say 'we must win' but never put in place the conditions necessary for winning.

"For God's sake, this is the World Cup and not the African Youth Championship.

"If we want to do well we need to be settled somewhere, play friendly games and prepare for the world's best."
