 Gnassingbe declared the public holiday | Togo has declared a national holiday on Monday, in honour of the national team's qualification for the 2006 World Cup finals. President Faure Gnassingbe made the declaration on Sunday, after the Hawks, the national team, beat Congo 3-2 in their final Group One qualifier. Over 30,000 fans received the players at the national stadium in Lome, who are celebrating the West African country's first-time qualification for football's most prestigious event.
