Nigeria midfielder Wilson Oruma's future with Sochaux is uncertain |
Nigeria international Wilson Oruma's future with French club Sochaux is uncertain following the breakdown of contract talks.
''The discussions are not going well at the moment,'' Oruma told BBC Sport.
''I believe I deserve more than what Sochaux are currently offering."
The former RC Lens player has been with Sochaux for the past three seasons and has been linked with a possible transfer to either Paris Saint Germain or Olympic Marseille during the January transfer window.
''There's no deal for now but by the end of January I will be a free agent and will be able to discuss with any club," he pointed out.
''It is the dream of every player to play for a bigger club and take on a new challenge."
Oruma, who won the French league cup with Sochaux last season, is also unhappy with his treatment by the Super Eagles.
He has not played for Nigeria since the 2002 African Cup of Nations in Mali despite being included in the squad several times.
''I paid for my own air fare to go to the world cup qualifier against Algeria last year yet I was relegated to the bench," he complained.
''The NFA are aware I have not been refunded for the ticket, but that is not the issue, if I am professional enough to play regularly for my club why not Nigeria?"
"I am saddened by this development and I cannot be invited to play for the national team and simply warm the bench all the time."
