DR Congo striker Shabani Nonda looks set to join Roma |
Italian club Roma are hoping to make the DR Congo striker Shabani Nonda their third new signing. The 28-year-old Burundi-born forward, out of contract with French club Monaco, is expected to arrive in Rome with his agent for a medical on Friday, the Corriere dello Sport reported Friday.
Nonda was close to joining rivals Juventus, but the Turin club's medical staff were not satisfied with the results from his medical.
The striker scored twice for the DR Congo on Sunday in their 4-0 win over Uganda in a 2006 World Cup qualifier in Kinshasa.
Roma, who have qualified for the Uefa Cup next season, have already made two free transfer signings in the past week, snapping up Ghanaian defender Sammy Kuffour from Bayern Munich and Brazilian midfielder Rodrigo Taddei from Siena.
