Shabani Nonda got the late equaliser for DR Congo. |
Shabani Nonda scored an injury-time penalty for DR Congo to earn a 2-2 draw with the Ivory Coast in a friendly in France on Tuesday.
Bonaventure Kalou's 87th-minute penalty appeared to have handed Ivory Coast the win.
The Ivorians opened the scoring when Auxerre midfielder Kalou chipped the ball over the Congo defence and Anderlecht midfielder Dindane drove it into the corner of the net.
That goal was then cancelled out by a long-range strike from Muzola Makondele close to halftime.
Nonda's injury-time spot kick earned the Simbas the draw.
Meanwhile, in another friendly Togo's national team drew 0-0 with French second division side Lorient.
More than 2,000 spectators turned up to see the match which was organised to help the Sri Lankan victims of the tsunami.
