Okocha missed first two World Cup qualifiers |
Jay Jay Okocha and Yakubu Ayegbeni have been included in Nigeria's squad for the World Cup qualifier against Algeria next month. The Nigeria Football Association (NFA) picked Okocha in a 22-man squad for the Group Four fixture in Abuja on 3 July.
Okocha was not involved in the Super Eagles' first two matches against Rwanda and Angola.
His absence led to speculation that he had fallen out with coach Christian Chukwu.
But the midfielder dismissed rumours of a rift and said he just wanted to take a rest after a long English Premiership season.
Also making a return to the team is Yakubu Ayegbeni, who has since made peace with the NFA following his expulsion from the African Nations Cup in Tunisia.
Julius Aghahowa, Wilson Oruma, Obafemi Martins and Bartholomew Ogbeche, have all been named in the squad.
There are doubts about the availability of Martins, who is still recovering from a knee injury sustained in the game against Rwanda.
Schoolboy international Mikeal John Obi, has also been given a surprise call-up.
