Angola have a tough mission in Algeria |
Star striker and captain Akwa will be back in Angola's squad for their World Cup qualifier against Algeria at the weekend. This will be his first match since the preliminary round qualifier against Chad last November.
Akwa is one of 10 foreign-based players in the squad for Sunday's game in Annaba.
Coach Luis Oliviera Goncalves named only one uncapped player, midfielder Ze Calanga from Petro Atletico.
He takes the place of Portugal-based midfielder Mendonca, dropped for missing a friendly against the DR Congo two weeks ago.
Primeiro Agosto midfielder Stopirra, who captained the side in the Cosafa Cup win over Namibia last month, is also out.
He was sent off in a club match earlier this week which coach Goncalves said was a display of indiscipline.
