Morocco will be dreaming of emulating reigning Olympic champions Cameroon

They were helped out by Uganda who overcame Ethiopia by a similar scoreline in Kampala in the other Group C match.

Angola started the match as group leaders but Morocco's victory helped them leapfrog their opponents on Saturday.

Morocco took the lead after fourteen minutes with a goal from Bouabid Moudden, Angola equalised ten minutes before the break thanks to Antonio Mendoca.

But just two minutes later Moudden scored his second of the game from the penalty spot to help his side claim all three points and with it a place at the Olympics.

Morocco's case was helped by Uganda's win in Kampala over Ethiopia, who would have qualified for Athens if they had won that match.

The Ethiopians day started well when Fifa ordered that the match should be played at the same time as Morocco against Angola.

The Ugandan's took the lead moments before the break as Godfrey Sserunkuma unleashed a 30-yard shot to beat Desalegn Wubshhet in the Ethiopian goal.

But the Ethiopians came out in the second half more determined and they were rewarded after six minutes with a neat finish from Ephram Zeru after a good cross from Tafese Tesfaye cross.

Substitute Dan Wagaruka ended Ethiopia's Olympic dreams five minutes from the final whistle as he beat the Ethiopian defence before slotting the ball home for the winner.

The Ethiopian players walked off the pitch in tears, while the Ugandan players were greeted by cheering fans.

"I promised we would win, this is a good win for us even though we haven't qualified," said Uganda's coach Charles Namakoola.
