Samuel Eto'o Fils has lost four kilos as a result of a stomach problem |
Cameroon's Samuel Eto'o Fils has left a hospital in Paris and returned to Barcelona. The African Player of the Year spent a night in the hospital after suffering from a stomach complaint which has left him four kilos lighter.
The 23-year-old was flying back from Cameroon, where he had been preparing to take on Sudan, after picking up gastroenteritis and had to be treated by doctors during a changeover in the French capital.
The problem means that he is unable to play for the Indomitable Lions against Sudan in a 2006 World Cup qualifier on Saturday.
"Eto'o has arrived well but tired and weak," said his representative Josep Maria Mesalles.
"He has lost weight but he will now rest at home and will not need to visit the hospital."
Eto'o has been told to rest for four to five days but is expected to be fit for the derby clash with Espanyol on 16 October.
